What is the purpose of a whole house filter?

Usually used in conjunction with a water softener, whole house filters can come in many different configurations depending on your water treatment needs.  Whole house filters can be set up to filter iron, chlorine, bacteria, lead, mercury and algae and other contaminants specific to your needs.

Who needs a whole house filter?

While any house or business can benefit from a whole house filter these are typically used in cases targeting specific or multiple contaminants, protect plumbing fixtures and appliances or health needs.  For instance, a private well may have high amounts of iron, we can install a filter to target and remove the iron in the water supply. If you are concerned about bacteria we can install a UV light system to destroy it. 

Do I need to maintain a whole house filter?

Yes, depending on the specific system there may be filters to change or UV lights to replace.
